Well if I say to you I could forget it
Believing out a lie
Easy come, easy go my time had been
Until you came into my life
If I could do again I’d beg and borrow
For a second time around
But I wouldn’t change my life by a single day
If I couldn’t have you for dreamin' of
Takin' it all the way
You and I, we had much better than before
Better then or after
Doin' it all the way
You and I, we had time for nothing more
Time to keep on loving, still…
In what you’d say, you’d never make a mountain
Though you sometimes disappeared
Leaving me with all my own so I could see
All the seed I’d planted could be grown
Diving in all the way
Must admit we had much better than before
Better then or after
Doin' it all the way
You and I we had time for nothing more
Time to keep on loving… till
All alone and ridin' home while you’d always find me there
Getting on, whatever comes into my mind while you’d always find me there
Oh, if you got to be someone, let it shine on out of your eyes
Till the feeling gets to you so strong that you can open up the skies…
A year or so, the day it comes tomorrow
I saw you on the line
Between the worlds of fantasy and swollen girls
Never knew I’d see a better time
Takin' it all the way
You and I we had much better than before
Better then or after
Doin' it all the way
You and I we had time for nothing more
Time to keep on loving…
I agree with you completely, the flute towards the end is the making of this song. I listen to the whole song and then I will always scrub back and listen to the last three minutes again...and again...and again...and again...no OCD's in this house really.
I was being tossed from my apartment from my wife, I got my stereo.... my Austin, 35p, and my Caravan albums. While I was packing the ex asked if she could keep this one, I just smiled and turned....
Jimmy Hastings' circular breathing-enabled flute solo at the end is one of the marvels of recorded music, as good as his flute work on "It Didn't Matter Anyway" or "Toad of Toad Hall."
Magnifique - off to see the boys this week in Salisbury. Wonderful memories of mis-spent youth when you used to want to get a girl you saw on the dancefloor so bad, then when it happened you fiddled and fumbled, mumbled something about Caravan, and ended up back at the bar alone again. Ah to be young again..............
