Thank you so much for posting this great music. What fantastic talent, Brel and the Ensemble!

I was Elly Stone's voice coach once. Every time I hear this song, I am overwhelmed.

Saw Ms Stone and Robert Guilliame in Jacques Brel is Alive and Living In Paris at the Huntington Hartford theatre in Hollywood in '68 I think. Loved her voice. bought the LP double album. They were superb!

Elly Stone is a legend for having done this and all of Brel's songs so many times in tours that she was pushed to the edge of a nervous breakdown, ---but no one could encompass the emotion of Brel's translations like she did. I hail her and the beautiful poetry and song of Brel, the consummate and misunderstood Bohemian composer of the post-war era.

I was raised on a number of these tracks - some from this recording, some of the original Brel recordings. This one, I knew first as the Judy Collins cover, which I adore. Both women bring a very different feeling to this song. Still, nothing compares to Brel's original. Love it all!

My mother played this in the 70's when I was just a child. I'll never forget it. Or her.

I get goose bumps. My hair stands on end every time I hear her sing this song. Lucky enough to hear her sing this the first time at the Village Gate Theater, then again at Carnegie Hall.
