Now won’t you listen honey, while I say
How could you tell me that you’re goin' away?
Don’t say that we must part
Don’t break your baby’s heart
You know I’ve loved you for these many years
Loved you night and day
Oh! honey baby, can’t you see my tears?
Listen while I say
After you’ve gone and left me cryin'
After you’ve gone there’s no denyin'
You’ll feel blue, you’ll feel sad
You’ll miss the dearest pal you’ve ever had
There’ll come a time, now don’t forget it
There’ll come a time when you’ll regret it
Someday, when you grow lonely
Your heart will break like mine and you’ll want me only
After you’ve gone, after you’ve gone away
After you’ve gone and left me cryin'
After you’ve gone there’s no denyin'
You’re gonna feel blue, and you’re gonna feel sad
You’re gonna feel bad
And you’ll miss, and you’ll miss
And you’ll miss the bestest pal you ever had
There’ll come a time, now don’t forget it
There’ll come a time when you’ll regret it
But baby, think what you’re doin'
I’m gonna haunt you so, I’m gonna taunt you so
It’s gonna drive you to ruin
After you’ve gone, after you’ve gone away
I agree !
It is superb: it is magnificent; her voice is the best I have ever heard and ... you are quite correct in your statement dated 20th. June 2009.
Thank you very much.

When I watch TV or when I'm in a supermarket I am overwhelmed by music with persons who look good and sexy and pretend that they can sing. It's fulsome, but difficult to avoid. After such an experience, it is such a joy and relief hearing a real singer like Eydie.
Lovely song that many performers must have enjoyed singing because it has heart and touches those parts that all great songs can do. Long live the memory of Eydie G. who always seemed to be happily smiling. Thank you.
Tough to beat Eydie, for sure!! She does this slower version of a standard, that suits itself well to both slow and up tempos, about as well as anyone ever. Miss her soloing as well as the wonderful "Steve & Eydie" stuff!!
Don't you remember how you used to say
You'd always love me in the same old way
but now it's very strange
That you should ever change
sometimes i think someone has won your heart
Tempted you away
But let me warn you tho' we're miles apart
You'll regret some day
my darling
After you've gone and left me crying
After you've gone there's no denying,
You'll feel blue, you'll feel sad,
You'll miss the bestest pal you've ever had
There'll come a time, now don't forget it,
There'll come a time, when you'll regret it
some day when you grow lonely
your heart will break like mine and you will want me only
After you've gone
Smooth. Lyrically smooth, yet it is powerful. Eddie's voice has beauty even while it has great power( from constant, careful practice and use, not abuse and her great musical talent). The missing aspect in most voices today is BEAUTY!! . People push too hard on their vocal apparatus. Love YOUR voice, and work with it. Don't try to sound lik e another singer. Be YOU. Singers of the older generation knew this.
