Gary Lewis & The Playboys - Sealed with a Kiss download song

TunefisherT; Gary Lewis and the Playboys were on Ed Sullivan singing 'This Diamond Ring'. It is a well known fact Mr Sullivan would only allow 'live' performances no lip-syncing ever. But on the album they were not allowed to play there own instruments (stip of producer to their dismay) and knew their sound wouldn't be same for the ES Show gig. So Gary sang 'live' and Playboys 'air played' for that performance. This from Ed Sullivan interview/bio.

This is a good performance of this song. I notice that the Playboys are better able to articulate the lyrics than the other singers who sing this song.

I never liked to say good by at any time but sometimes things just don't work out.I sure miss those days.

you have to think back of the middle 60s and we didn't care about tuned vocals but the enjoyment of a busload teens going to the beach singing this song.

Oh, how time flies. Remember this song together with House of the Rising Sun by The Animals, during those discotheque parties in 60's sa 'Pinas, often requested and "talagang binabakuran" ang paboritong "tsikas" para isayaw ng "sweet".

Thus song done first,by Bryan Hhland. HOWEVER Gary version is just as great. I believe Gary said he was actually on leave for. the army when he recorded this. woe, diddyboper

To me, Gary sounds good no matter what he is singing. Gary kissed me once back in the 60s, and it was the nicest, sweetest kiss I have ever experienced in my life.  Whenever I hear his voice, that beautiful kiss comes back to me. I also still have the guitar pick that he gave to me.  He bit his teeth impressions into that pic for me. Sweet guy; I will never forget Gary Lewis.

sheesh...LOTS of snobs in the comments below: "I like so and so's version better" etc etc The pop world to this day has been FILLED with different singers doing their own version of a song...Nothing new about that.

The reason this doesn't sound like him or his voice in the other songs iis because they didn't layer or overdub his voice with another guy's voice who had a higher pitch while his voice was flat. He wasn't too happy about this recording.

I love this song no matter who does it.
