Joy Williams - Woman (Oh Mama) download song

Great song and video. I just dont like the Oh Mama's all through it. I do see the Kate Bush inspiration. I Love that.

I love this song. I dance and dance. This song gives me chills. My coworker had this on our playlist at work. The initial bit would have me jam out a bit. When I finally heard the words I began to cry. I'm not familiar with this artist or her previous work, I just know what moves me. This song has been added to that list.

Very few songs have kept me hitting repeat over and over and not getting old. I love the emotion and meaning within it, how Joy tries to put words to what a woman is - how she tries to simplify a woman into such simple things as words. I also like how she carefully chose the 'nude' scenes - to show what a woman is without being sexual or disrespective of other women. That takes courage! While the lyrics are fairly simplistic from a technical point of view, they do wonders to the meaning and soul of this song! I've heard songs similar in composition with repeating lyrics and this one stands out. She not simply repeating the phrase - each usage is unique. And to all the..."people"...calling Joy a whore, I find it curious you think you are worthy even posting the comment, let alone call her such a disgusting and misused term. Think before you post.

Rad. She could sing about potatoes and i'de lean forward in my chair but this really is brilliant.

"I am the moon, I am the moon.." I actually really like this. The vocals are so powerful. Yeah, its different, but she's branching out and you can't really be mad at her for that. This song is amazing to me and so is the video. (I was totally mesmerized by the starry and flame dancing figures) I'm super excited about whats to come for her musically.

This is still the most underrated song and music video I've ever seen. Every time I watch it I expect it to have a million views and I get re-confused how that hasn't happened...yet.

Took a few times listening to love it, but I love it. I wish the slow, intoxicating humming part was on the album version. Joy makes me proud to be a woman.

"I am the universe wrapped in skin" LOVE!

I love how Joy seems to have gone through a lot of personal growth and this is her expression of it. She will do just fine on her own.

The Goddess is rising!

First couple of listens I kept my eyes closed and my mind open. Best way to get a feel for the song, especially when a former band member is branching out. There are things I like and things I didn't. The song itself is beautiful and powerful, as a woman it's really empowering to focus on these lyrics. However, the tribal feel could have been delved into a little more, especially in the video. The 'universe' figure dancing around was a bit gimmicky, visually it didn't fit and reminded me of 'tainted love' (anyone remember the first version?) I prefer Joy's voice to be more prominent, with the instruments accompanying her rather than the other way around, but that's maybe because I was a Civil Wars fan first and foremost and I'm too used to her voice being in that sort of acoustic environment. I'm a big fan though, Joy deserves a world of success and I really do love that she's going in a totally different direction with her music, I'm excited to hear more!

You are an incredibly talented woman Joy. This video is spectacular and I love the song. Cant wait for the album now :-)

This video is all THAT!! In particular, I loooove that light breaking through the bodies as those backing vocals build. Bravo to the editors and director and of course, Joy, for truly enhancing that killer lyric by Matt Morris !!

Beautiful Joy. It's easy to get disconnected from the oppression that women still suffer in many countries around the world. We forget that women in the bondage of human trafficking, poverty and persecution do not have the freedom or privilege to express their feelings, their beauty and their sacrifice. May God bless the spirit of the woman who is suffering today with His love and compassion. And, should they hear this song, may they be reminded of the strength to resides within them.
