I’m in the mood for love
Simply because you’re near me.
Funny, but when you’re near me
I’m in the mood for love.
Heaven is in your eyes
Bright as the stars we’re under
Oh! Is it any wonder
I’m in the mood for love?
Why stop to think of whether
This little dream might fade?
We’ve put our hearts together
Now we are one, I’m not afraid!
If there’s a cloud above
If it should rain we’ll let it But for tonight, forget it!
I’m in the mood for love.
dont know why i never really listened to julie london before. was always aware of her but somhow passed her by for beverly kenney, anne phillips. helen merrill, chris connor, anita o'day, june christy, etc. she certainly captured the sound of the 50's and early 60's. bought 4 of her early albums today. better late than never. actually love the voice of katherine mcphee. wish someone would produce her in a small setting like julie london. some classic american evergreen songs. how about with herbie hancock, ron carter and jack dejohnette. that would be amazing!!! recorded all analog with an all tube recording chain onto 1/4 or 1/2" tape!! yikes!!
I was just singing this to my kids & our kitten. I had to know where did it come from, and why is it instilled in my head. I figured it out, Darla sang it on Our Gang-Little Rascals which i watched religiously in my 70s childhood. Amazing how such a beautiful song stuck with me for over 30 years!

A very good friend of mine, who was a US Navy lieutenant stationed in Yokosuka, and joined the same American company with me, liked to sing this song often in Woburn Massachusetts, where we received sales management training from a Fortune 500 American company.
Now I have lost in touch with him, and I don't know where he is and how he is doing. Whenever I listen to this music, I remember him.
