I happen to be a music major, and I've played Dark Horse for years. I was comparing that section of Tears of the East to the very beginning of Dark Horse. It does in fact sound very similar, with the triplets in the right hand and only a few notes in the bass. I wasn't saying that it was plagiarism, or that the whole song sounds like all of Dark Horse.

I heard this on pandora radio toady and fell in love with it. It is beautiful. I bought the cd a few minutes ago . This is the first time I ever heard of him and it is not like me to Oder a cd on first hearing but I just loved it.
