This is IT. One old man. One voice. Feels it ALL. Says it ALL. Period.

In my opinion there can be no better encapsulation of the weakened and ragged plea for the extension of time than Ralph Stanley's voice in Oh Death. For this reason I do believe he sings this song better than anyone else, and so hauntingly even.

When I was visiting some family in New Orleans I saw an elderly homeless dude crying out this wonderful dirge. Needless to say, he got his money.

I've had a late epiphany that the effectiveness of dark art does not extend from an indifference toward death & suffering, but from an acute awareness of it. No gore-worshiping metal band ever produced anything so chilling as this.

The lack of accompaniment makes it especially eerie and moving

Loved this song since I first heard it in 'Oh Brother Where Are Thou?". I think I was 6 at the time?

RIP Ralph. I bagged the dude's groceries a time or two when I was a teenager.

Never heard the song beore till it was in the movie. It never has lost it's power when I listen to it. Covers so much and it's all so true.
