I cant explain why these tunes are so sick!!!!!!!I love this music...I love old school breaks, dnb, acid house, techno until 1995...Pure underground rave power!!Keep up the good work bluefrog!Upload more and more
What a tune from a special era. Love the atmospheric buildup and then into the breakbeat and you have the vocals to come. You can hear this also on Ellis Dee's set at New Age Eclipse 91 together with Mc Man Parris, one of my favourite mixtapes of that time, strongly recommend you check that out. Thanks for the timeless memories Mr Dee and reoccurring goose bumps, hope you are keeping well.
So much Breakbeat was "lost" because of the trend of.. "Playing the next HOT record" in 91-93. A LOT of records released in this style were played for like 4 months then put in a crate for occasional digging. This era of electronic music is so massively underrated and seemed to be a stop gap between genres at the time, heading towards DNB etc. Pilgrim maintained this rhythm for the explosion of Nu-skool breaks, which unfortunately got watered down when became popular.
This track & The House Crew's "Gotta Keep the Fire Burning" were 2 of the biggest tunes in late 91 early 92. Synth/piano still sounds like early Chicago though. MVITA
