Got a little soul
The world is a cold, cold place to be Want a little warmth
But who’s going to save a little warmth for me We know the fire awaits unbelievers
All of the sinners the same
Girl you and I will die unbelievers bound to the tracks of the train
See the snow come down
It’s coming on down from the highest peak
Want a little leaf, but who’s going to save a little leaf for me We know the fire awaits unbelievers
All of the sinners the same
Girl you and I will die unbelievers bound to the tracks of the train
I’m not excited
But should I be Is this the fate that half of the world has planned for me?
I know I love you
And you love the sea
Wonder if the water contains a little drop little drop for me See the sun go down
It’s going on down when the night is deep
Want a little light but who’s going to save a little light for me?
We know the fire awaits unbelievers
All of the sinners the same
Girl you and I will die unbelievers bound to the tracks of the train
If I’m born again I know that the world will disagree
Want a little grace but who’s going to say a little grace for me?
We know the fire awaits unbelievers
All of the sinners the same
Girl you and I will die unbelievers bound to the tracks of the train
I’m not excited
But should I be Is this the fate that half of the world has planned for me?
I know I love you
And you love the sea
Wonder if the water contains a little drop little drop for me
I’m not excited
But should I be Is this the fate that half of the world has planned for me?
I know I love you
And you love the sea
Wonder if the water contains a little drop little drop for me
Honestly, this is one of my favorite songs ever, and it makes me wholly sad. I'm Christian and I wish the whole world could live in harmony like this song demonstrates, despite religious differences.
This song and it’s lyrics have been permanently engrained in my memory i would rather forget all other songs ever than forget this one and This Life is a close runner up
This song reminds me when I lived in the city downtown walking around and up to the soccer stadium where I’d go every week end with my dad and my friends and we had reserved stuf f and everything. I have feels because this song used to play back then
I'm a huge Vampire Weekend fan, and this is my favourite song of theirs as I think it's the one that most encapsulates the brilliance of them in one song: jaunty, upbeat rythym, brilliant music, wonderful vocals and melody, and strong lyrics. There's so many other great songs of theirs of course, but I just think they reach a peak with this stunning track.
