Another day I call and never speak
And you would say nothing’s changed at all
And I can’t feel much hope for anything
If I won’t be there to catch you if you fall
Again
It seems we meet
In the spaces
In between
We always say
It won’t be long
But something’s always wrong
Another game of putting things aside
As if we’ll come back to them some time
A brace of hope a pride of innocence
And you would say something has gone wrong
Again
It seems we meet
In the spaces
In between
We always say
It won’t be long
But something’s always wrong
«Again we fail to meet and mend
The spaces safe between intents
We say too much and long been gone,
Oh but something’s always wrong.»
«Again we fail to make amends
And wend our way between intents
And looking back, not moving on Oh but something’s always wrong.»
«Again we fail to meet and mend
The spaces safe between intents
We say too much, too long been gone
Oh but something’s always wrong.
Its sad because music like this is so beautiful and sticks with you . You remember the melody and you feel good when it plays. Not all, but so much stuff today has no substance and for so long now is a bunch of whining and rhyming every other sentence. But the rhymes have no thought, they are just put together to get the song sold. And several generations now have no idea what really good music was and can be.
The theme song I gave my wife the last year we were together. Always something wrong! I could do nothing right. Man life is to short to be so negative. Music is a light we all need, some more than others. Peace.
My girlfriend senior year of high school was a huge Toad fan and she desperately wanted me to like them, only because she knew how great a band they were and she only wanted to turn as many people on to them as possible. I knew of them but they were just not my scene then(that band with the goofy name??) She gave me this album and I couldn't believe how much I liked their music, how in the hell was I NOT listening to them? She and I did not even make it to prom but my love for this band has endured for over 20 years.
This song reminds me of my Freshman year in college! That year Toad the Wet Sprocket came to my college (Calvin College) and Hootie & The Blowfish opened for them.
"Something's Always Wrong"
Another day I call and never speak
And you would say nothing's changed at all
And I can't feel much hope for anything
If I won't be there to catch you if you fall
Again
It seems we meet
In the spaces
In between
We always say
It won't be long
But something's always wrong
Another game of putting things aside
As if we'll come back to them some time
A brace of hope a pride of innocence
And you would say something has gone wrong
Again
It seems we meet
In the spaces
In between
We always say
It won't be long
But something's always wrong

I'm not sure what's wrong with me, this song keeps running through my head, day after day, probably for about 6 months now, literally 3 or 4 times a day, I start singing it in my head. Like a cigarette craving, when I'm stressed, I start singing it, sometimes accidentally out loud..am I crazy??
